Making a Virtual 1-Pager Twice
Why We Built a One Pager In The Metaverse
Ever since I thwacked at colored blocks in Beat Saber and shot drones in Space Pirate Trainer, virtual reality has felt like the next big thing. I wanted to learn it, build it, break it, pioneer it. I'm on the VR bandwagon, folks.
As part of my post-honeymoon putting-my-life-together, I indulged this personal curiosity and came across Frame.
Simply put, it's a free browser-based app where you can build your own virtual reality space.
Let me say that again a little louder for those in the back:
a totally free
zero hardware or software
available to anyone
virtual reality
sandbox.
As a learning nerd, I know how to build my own skills and competencies around learning new tools. I set a small, manageable goal that is built off elements I'm already familiar with: our core Learn to Scale RevOps-as-a-Service.
I decided to make a virtual reality one-pager.
I spent about eight hours making images, adding them to the virtual gallery, and canoodling them around the space. It was AWESOME! I was quite literally inside my dream.
Then I accidentally deleted it all in two clicks. Whoops.
I wasn't going to let one setback keep me from my virtual dreams, though. I rebuilt the whole VR room in less than half the time and better than before. As I was re-adding all the images, I realized that my pace of work was far faster than before: that's a SUPER CLEAR marker of learning. I got even more excited.
I'm excited enough to share with you my first virtual reality space.
You don't have to create an account, you don't have to download an application, you can access it on mobile, and you can navigate the space without any VR hardware.
I think this kind of stuff is the future: you decide.
