What we do

3 ways in. One promise throughout.

Every engagement moves your organization the same direction: from scattered pilots and private experiments to org-wide, confident AI use. We help you figure out where to start, then walk it with you in order. Rules first, so everyone agrees what's allowed. Skills next, so people can actually use the thing. Then the part most firms skip, which is making it stick.

Door 1 · agree on the rules

AI Governance Chartering

House rules for AI that your staff helped write, which is the whole reason they survive contact with an actual workday. We facilitate the conversations your organization has been avoiding: what's allowed, what's off-limits, who decides, and what happens when the answer is "it depends."

  • Working sessions with the people who'll live under the rules, not just the ones who sign them
  • An acceptable use policy in plain language, sized to your actual risk, not a template's
  • A decision path for the gray areas, because there will be gray areas
  • A review rhythm so the rules keep up with the technology
Testimonial from Steve Travaglini, Former CRO of LinkSquares: Dan came in, he saw what truly made us special, and he made something totally custom that was perfect for us… which was awesome.

Good first step if...

Leadership keeps saying "we should have a policy," or a board member just asked what yours is. Especially built for mission-driven organizations where trust is the whole ballgame.

Door 2 · build the skills

AI Fluency Training

Our flagship training is called AI Fluency for a 100% Human Workforce, and the name is the promise. Your legal and IT folks wrote an AI policy; your people are winging it anyway. Training is the bridge between the two, and it only works when it's built for the people you actually employ, including the ones who introduce themselves as "not a tech person."

  • Hands-on workshops where everyone practices on their own real work, not canned demos
  • Judgment first: which tasks to hand the machine, which to keep, how to check its work
  • Sessions that run on conversation. Your people talk more than we do, on purpose
  • Works for teams at zero. No prerequisites, no quiz at the door
  • Massachusetts business with 100 or fewer MA employees? This training can cost you nothing: it is an approved Express Program course. The state's Express Program (Workforce Training Fund) reimburses eligible companies up to 100%, with grants approved in about 21 days. We'll walk you through the whole application: it's easy peasy. Here's how the grant works →
Testimonial from Krysta Van Ranst, Founder of Building PPL: The entire process of the engagement: I absolutely loved it! The team was still on a high a week later. It was tenfold what I thought it was going to be.

Good first step if...

Your people range from curious to scared, adoption is uneven, and the loudest voice in the room is either hype or dread. Formats: Virtual group training, up to 25 participants, 60-90 minutes across five sessions.

Door 3 · make it stick

AI Enablement Residency

Training day is the easy part. Week six is where AI initiatives go to die, when the workshop glow fades and old habits reassert themselves. The residency means we stay for that stretch, until someone inside your walls owns the momentum and we've made sure they're ready.

  • Champions identified and coached inside your team
  • Office hours and a place to bring the "is this allowed?" questions
  • A measurement plan, because "people seem excited" is a feeling and feelings make lousy dashboards
  • Custom-fit webinars and trainings that address emerging issues within and beyond the organization
Testimonial from Tony Miller, CEO of Millermedia7: Agencies, just like any other small company, will go through a lot of pivots. They want the data to indicate that the thing that they're going to change is the right thing to change. Working with Learn to Scale will help you hone those ideas.

Good first step if...

You've already run training (ours or anyone's) and watched it evaporate by week six. Or you're planning to implement AI more deeply in your org and don't want to rely on your one AI-savvy champion to keep your workforce transformation on track.

The fit check

Who this is for, and who it isn't.

You'll like it here if

You run a culture-first organization, a nonprofit, or a values-forward company where the mission is the whole point — roughly 25 people or more, and you've poked at AI without anything sticking org-wide yet. You want AI working for your team without trading away trust, and you'd rather have rules people follow than a policy that impresses lawyers.

Wrong building if

You want code written, software sold, or headcount "optimized." We don't do any of those, and we won't pretend to. We'll point you somewhere reputable and wish you well, no hard feelings.

Before you reach out

The questions people ask us on the first call, answered here so the first call can be about you.

What does this cost?

Governance chartering starts at $18,500. From there we offer three packages that carry you through the full arc, from house rules to training to the part where it sticks, and we will show you all three on the first call. The AI Fluency course on its own is $15,000. That price is the same with or without the grant below; the grant just changes who pays it. We would rather you know the neighborhood now than get your board excited about the wrong zip code.

Wait, Massachusetts employers might pay nothing?

Correct. Our AI Fluency course is approved under the Commonwealth's Express Program. Employers with 100 or fewer Massachusetts W-2 employees can be reimbursed up to 100% of the course fee, up to $15,000 per company per year, which covers the whole thing. Applications take roughly three weeks to clear. We will walk you through the paperwork. The paperwork takes about 15 minutes.

How long does this take, and how much of my team's time?

Governance chartering typically runs two to three months. The AI Fluency course is 15 hours spread over five weeks. The Enablement Residency starts at two months and lasts as long as it takes.

Are we the right size for this?

Governance chartering and the Enablement Residency are for organizations of 25 people or more. The AI Fluency course needs at least five participants, from an organization of any size. Fewer than five? Come to the free monthly meetup or read The TL;DR.

Do we have to do governance before training?

No. Each door works on its own. We recommend the rules-first order because training people on a tool nobody has agreed they are allowed to use tends to produce very confident rule-breakers. But if your team already has house rules, we will read them and start from there.

Remote, in person, or both?

Both. We are based in Boston and happy to be in your building. Most fluency cohorts run live over video with cameras on, because the hands-on part only works if the hands are visible.

What happens after you leave?

That is the whole point of the enablement work. Before we go, someone inside your organization owns the rules, someone owns the skills practice, and there is a plan for measuring whether any of it is working. If you want us on call after that, we offer retainers. If you do not, we shake hands and you keep the playbook.

Not sure which door? Tell us what's behind yours.

Describe what's going on with AI where you work and we'll point you at the right first step, even if it isn't one of ours.
